The Dos Corrientes Pullover
An intermediate-friendly knitted pullover– my Dos Corrientes Pullover – is a free pattern here on the blog! Read through my inspiration, materials and stitch patterns used. Or scroll on down for the free pattern.
Introduction + Design
The Dos Corrientes Pullover is an ode to the way the world is opening up nowadays, and the need we have as human beings to belong somewhere. This is represented by the cables in the pattern. They go in different directions, yet they collide and converge in their own unique way, just like each and every single one of us, with out own stories of where we come from and where we are going.
The Dos Corrientes Pullover is worked in four pieces (back, front and two sleeves) flat and bottom up. The front features a Fisherman’s Rib cable formed by two opposing basic ropes in the bottom, and later are slowly separated. All pieces are worked in Fisherman’s Rib stitch.
Both front and back have a dropped shoulder classic silhouette, with a length reaching a couple inches below the waist for a cropped look.
The mock turtle neck is created by binding off the shoulders and continue working the neck in the front and back.
The sleeves are worked straight.
Once all pieces are knitted, the front and back are seamed by the shoulders and neck. Then the sleeves are joined, and finally the sides and sleeves are seamed.
To Bind Off the neck of both front and back, use the Yarn over Bind Off technique.
The Pullover perfect to launge
In these times when we are supposed to stay at home most of the time, we should aim to wear comfortable yet gorgeous garments to feel as best as we can. This pullover is roomy, and the merino feels perfect against the skin. Also, it’s slightly cropped so wearing it with high-waisted jeans or even leggins looks amazing!
Do you want to improve your knitting skills?
Then this pattern is ideal! It only has a little bit of shaping for the shoulders, and then you have the beautiful cables on the front of the pullover. Plus just the right amount of challenge from the Fisherman’s Rib to break with the monotony of Stockinette stitch.
Sizes for everyone!
This pullover fits bust sizes from 30 to 62 inches, due to the intended ease which is meant to be worn with! The relax fit is so liberating, and comfy, you’ll never want to get out of it.

Lay pullover flat with RS facing up and pin the center of sleeve BO edge to the sewn shoulder seam.
Pin each corner of the sleeve to the corresponding body edge, taking care that the corners will line up when pullover is folded at the shoulder seam, with WS facing.
Sew sleeves from cuff to armholes, and down side of body to bottom edge.
Repeat for other side. Weave in ends. Now your pullover is ready for you to rock it!
